Creating an energetic and uplifting entrance to the building, these sculptures serve as a monument to joyful, personal experiences in the artist’s life. Two large sculptures, modeled after ancient monuments called stelae, express delight in the natural world through a stylized, visual language. An heirloom quilt, made by the artist’s grandmother, inspired the vibrant flower sculptures and recurring shapes throughout the work.
